Food Organics

For the majority of human history, most of our fruits vegetables were in food organics, before the onset of the 20th century. During this time, there was large influx in the amounts of synthetic chemicals used in our food organics supply. These chemicals were seen as conventional due to its effect of increasing shelf life of the particular fruit or vegetable. Our fruits and vegetables were introduced to pesticides, insecticides. These chemicals were used as a last resort sort, but with the turn of the century, most of these chemicals are reused on our fruits and vegetables as conventional and common practice among agriculturists and farmers.

To be considered part of food organics, 95% of the ingredients must be made by organic compounds. Foods that claim to be organic must be free of artificial additives and colorings. It must also have no artificial alteration such as chemical ripening, irradiation, and genetically modified ingredients. Pesticides are allowed as long as it is not synthetic; natural pesticides will be more suitable for the environment and will also be biodegradable.

If you're shopping at the food market for food organics, look for fresh non-chemically treated or minimally processed foods. If there is a food plantation or a food processing system near your living area, try to pay a visit. The only way you will know where your food is coming from, is to know where your farmers come from and what they are doing to your food. Talk to farmers and be a witness to their farm conditions, farm practices, and farming activities. Many small farms grow vegetables using organic farming practices in utilizing organic compounds onto their compost and cultivations.

To buy food organics and possibly save a little bit of money, try to visit your farmers market and not your local supermarket. Visiting the organic section of a supermarket, you will notice that there are products that are much more expensive than their conventional counterparts. A farmer's market will have more stabilized prices. If you don't see a sign saying that the specific food is not organic, be sure to ask the farmer for more information. The key to landing reliable organic products is to ask many questions to the farmer. Ask about prices and the possibility of buying in bulk. You will have great tasting food organics style at cheaper prices.
